ADL SKILL TRAINING
At our school, we offer specialized training in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) that encompasses a wide range of essential skills necessary for independent living. Our comprehensive program covers ambulating, which involves the ability to move from one position to another and walk independently, empowering students to navigate their environments confidently. We also focus on feeding skills, ensuring that each student can independently manage mealtime tasks, from selecting appropriate foods to feeding themselves effectively. Our training extends to dressing, where students learn to select suitable clothing and master the process of putting it on independently. Additionally, we provide instruction in personal hygiene, emphasizing the importance of bathing, grooming, and maintaining dental, nail, and hair care routines for overall well-being. Continence training is also a key component, helping students develop the ability to control bladder and bowel function, promoting dignity and self-confidence. Furthermore, our program includes toileting skills, encompassing the ability to access and use toilet facilities appropriately, as well as maintain personal hygiene afterward. Through our tailored ADL training, we empower students to build essential life skills and achieve greater independence in their daily lives.
